Why iPad 4 battery charge going down


When you are playing in the wild, you find that your ipad 4 is not in power after the boot, you must be anxious and disappointed, do not worry, Vipprog share a customer experience of similar problems, hope to help you.

The customer said that his iPad 4 cannot get electons into its battery. During charging time, the charging indicator at the upper right corner has a thunderbolt in it to indicate it is charging. The battery indicator now says 77%, but after a few minutes, it dropped to 74%.

Repair Process

USB current voltage meter indicates that iPad has current when the screen is on or turn iPad off, as shown in picture 5-14.

USB current voltage meter shows no current when the screen is off, as shown in picture 5-15,which suggests that there is no current flowing trough the charging circuit when the screen is off.

Use multimeter to measure the voltage of battery pin BATT_SWI_CONN and it shows no voltage. While this pin of a normal motherboard should has 2.5V voltage. After changing its battery, the charging state recovers. The replaced iPad battery is shown in picture 5-16. Connect computer and use i4 assistance to test the charging state. Everything is normal, as shown in picture 5-17.

Received a iPhone 6 Plus, the customer said that the front camera can not be used, and the distance sensor has problem too. The two failures are concentrated on the front camera flex cable, which is likely to be caused by the damage of the wiring. First, we have to eliminate the possibility of the external parts fault, then consider the motherboard problem. Remove the screen assembly and replace it with a good one, we still can't turn on the front camera and use the distance sensor. Disassemble to measure the ground resistance of the front camera seat of J1111 by Fluke digital multimeter , it is found that several pins are infinitely large, and the related inductors are loose when touch with the pen.
